One of the most well-known players in the NFL sent a message this week to former Tennessee Vols wide receiver Jalin Hyatt

Earlier this week, Hyatt, who is entering his rookie season with the New York Giants, changed his number from No. 84 to No. 13.

Hyatt wanted the No. 11, which he wore at Tennessee, but it was retired by the Giants in 1995 after quarterback Phil Simms wore it from 1979 to 1993.

Former Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr, a former LSU standout who now plays for the Baltimore Ravens, wore No. 13 in New York from 2014 to 2018.

OBJ sent Hyatt a message, via Twitter, after hearing of the number change.

"Rock out One Three," wrote Beckham in the tweet.

A year ago at this time, Hyatt was mostly unknown outside of Knoxville and his hometown in South Carolina. A year later and he's one of the most talked about rookies in the NFL and he's receiving messages of encouragement from one of the most popular wide receivers to take the field in the last 15 years.

It just goes to show what hard work and relentless effort can do for a football player loaded with talent.
