An NFL Hall of Famer doesn't think former Tennessee Vols quarterback Josh Dobbs should've been benched by the Minnesota Vikings this week.

Dobbs started for the Vikings last weekend against the Las Vegas Raiders, but he was benched in favor of Nick Mullens after he was unable to lead Minnesota on any scoring drives. Mullens eventually led the Vikings on a drive that resulted in three points, which was all Minnesota needed to secure a 3-0 win against the Raiders.

Vikings head coach Kevin O'Connell announced this week that Mullens will start Minnesota's next game (against the Cincinnati Bengals).

NFL Hall of Fame quarterback Kurt Warner, a former Super Bowl MVP and two-time NFL MVP, doesn't think Dobbs' performance against the Raiders was worthy of getting benched.

Warner said on Wednesday that he felt like Dobbs played well and had some unfortunate drops from receivers.

"I feel he played well, dropped passes all over, some things didn’t work and of coursed missed some, but far from a 'benching' performance," tweeted Warner.

Warner backed up his take with an extensive video breakdown of Dobbs' performance against the Raiders.

Not only was Dobbs benched this week in favor of Mullens, but he might not even be the primary backup against the Bengals this weekend. O'Connell said earlier this week that he still hasn't decided if Dobbs or rookie Jaren Hall will be the backup quarterback against Cincinnati.
