Some NFL teams have reportedly reached out to the New York Giants about a potential trade for former Tennessee Vols wide receiver Jalin Hyatt ahead of the 2025 season.
The New York Post’s Ryan Dunleavy reported on Tuesday that teams checked in with the Giants about the availability of Hyatt.
According to Dunleavy, the Giants’ plan is to keep Hyatt on the 53-man roster.
Hyatt, a third round selection by the Giants in the 2023 NFL Draft, is entering his third season in the NFL.
It’s been a tough go so far for the former Vol — Hyatt has just 31 receptions for 435 yards and zero touchdowns during his first two seasons with the Giants.
The former Vol is hoping to make a bigger impact in the Giants’ offense in 2025. Unfortunately for Hyatt, he was slowed by injuries during training camp, making it tough for the South Carolina native to climb New York’s depth chart.
Hyatt had a couple of tough drops in the Giants’ final preseason game, but he also connected with quarterback Jameis Winston for a nice 27-yard touchdown.
It sounds like Hyatt’s roster spot in New York is safe (for now), but this certainly feels like a prove-it year for the 2022 Biletnikoff Award winner.
