There's still a couple of months to go until the Super Bowl, but the 2024 NFL offseason will be here before we know it.

Trades in the NFL are seemingly becoming more common these days. We should see at least a few deals go down during the offseason.

And there are a few potential deals involving former Tennessee Vols players that we'd love to see happen.

Here are three, specifically, that we think would make a lot of sense.

Hendon Hooker from the Detroit Lions to the New York Giants

There's speculation that Jared Goff could receive an extension from the Detroit Lions. That would be bad news for Hendon Hooker, who will turn 26 in January.

Hooker, who has spent this season recovering from the torn ACL he suffered last November, is ready to play in the NFL. And if Goff receives an extension, it could mean that Hooker sits on the bench in Detroit for another couple years, which would put him close to 30, before he reaches free agency.

The New York Giants, meanwhile, need a quarterback with Daniel Jones appearing to not be the answer. The Giants could draft a quarterback in 2024. But if they want to attack another need (they need some serious offensive line help), they could try to swing a deal for Hooker, which would reunite the former Vol with wide receiver Jalin Hyatt, his former Tennessee teammate.

Jalin Hyatt from the Giants to the Kansas City Chiefs

If the above trade doesn't happen, then I'd love to see Hyatt get traded to the Chiefs. I thought Kansas City was the ideal landing spot for Hyatt during the draft process. And the Chiefs' struggles in the passing game this season — specifically deep shots down the field — has reinforced that Kansas City would be the best spot for Hyatt. Patrick Mahomes needs a reliable speed threat. And Hyatt has proven he can be that guy.

Joshua Palmer from the Los Angeles Chargers to the Cincinnati Bengals

The Chargers' decision to draft Quentin Johnston in the first round of the 2023 NFL Draft signaled that Palmer isn't considered a longterm answer for Los Angeles. Palmer is under contract through 2024, but the Chargers could go ahead and trade him ahead of the 2024 season in an effort to increase the compensation they'd potentially receive in return. The Bengals will likely need another wide receiver with Tee Higgins set to hit free agency (Higgins reportedly wants WR1 money and Cincinnati is unlikely to give him that kind of deal while also extending Ja'Marr Chase). Palmer could be a suitable/affordable longterm replacement for Higgins.
