Just when we thought the hype couldn't reach any higher level for Nico Iamaleava he goes and looks even better than imagined at the Tennessee Vols' spring Orange and White Game.

Nico finished the first half completing all six of his passes for 91 yards and a touchdown, which is impressive enough by itself. But it's how he racked up those yards that should get every Vols fan excited.

Yes, Nico connected on some shorter passes early too, but the highlight of the day came on an absolute dime deep shot to wide receiver Chase Nimrod for a touchdown (in the post below). He was indeed showing the arm talent all day that made him the number one recruit in the nation according to On3 Sports.

The Tennessee Vols offense has been showing out all spring long, so it's no surprise they continued at the Orange and White Game. The wide receiver room is absolutely stacked. Nico is looking like the five star talent we always thought he would be. And Josh Heupel's offense is still the most explosive in the history of Tennessee Volunteers football.

As they mentioned on the Orange and White Game broadcast, before the arrival of Josh Heupel, the Tennessee offense had just five seasons in the last 70 years where their quarterback generated over 3000 total yards. Since Heupel installed his high flying offense?

Volunteers quarterbacks have posted 3000+ total yards three straight years in a row. Hendon Hooker was a special talent. Joe Milton was at least adequate in his final season (2023). Nico Iamaleava could and should be even better. And if his performance in the Citrus Bowl and this spring of football are any indication, the Tennessee Vols could see the best Orange and White offense of the century.
