The Tennessee Vols opened the 2024-25 basketball season on Monday night with an 80-64 win against Gardner Webb. 

After the game, Gardner Webb head coach Jeremy Luther met with the media and he ended up going viral thanks to one of the funniest quotes that you'll ever hear from a basketball coach. 

Luther explained to reporters how impressed he was with Thompson-Boling Arena — specifically pointing out how many refrigerators there are in the facility.

"We brought the team over last night," said Luther. "It was funny, we practiced yesterday, got up here, and I said, 'Let's go shoot around.' Everybody's out here, as they walk in to Tennessee, they're taking videos of the arena. It's cool. It's big for all of us. I mean, all three of my kids were taking pictures and running around and stealing drinks out of all the refrigerators. You guys got more refrigerators than any place in America. We got so many drinks out of you refrigerators."

I can't say that I blame Luther's kids for grabbing some free drinks, it's just hilarious that he dropped that information in the middle of a post-game press conference. 

But that just goes to show what kind of first class facilities Tennessee has (and not just because there are refrigerators everywhere) when it comes to athletics.
