Alabama linebacker Henry To'o To'o is a hot topic in East Tennessee.
The former Vols linebacker transferred to Alabama after the 2020 season. Since that decision, he's become Public Enemy No. 1 in the eyes of many Tennessee fans.
This past Saturday, To'o To'o returned to Neyland Stadium for the first time as an opponent.
And it didn't go well for him.
On top of the fact that Alabama lost the game to Tennessee — the Vols' first win in the rivalry since 2006 — To'o To'o graded out as one of the Crimson Tide's worst defenders.
To'o To'o's overall defensive grade (per Pro Football Focus) was 46.8. His tackling grade was 29.3.
The only Alabama player with a lower overall defensive grade against Tennessee was cornerback Malachi Moore with a 29.2 overall grade (it's worth noting that Moore played just 27 snaps while To'o To'o played 71 snaps).
By comparison, Vols linebacker Jeremy Banks, who is playing the position that To'o To'o previously played in Tennessee's defense, had an overall grade of 51.2. Banks' tackling grade was 52.0 (his coverage grade was just 32.7 which is why his overall grade was lower than most folks would likely expect).
These two teams could play again this season (SEC Championship game or the College Football Playoff). If that ends up being the case, I'm sure Tennessee will once again attempt to exploit To'o To'o's poor defensive play.
