Tennessee Vols fans made sure there was plenty of orange in the Horseshoe on Saturday night in Columbus.

Somewhere around 30,000 (or more) Vols fans made the trip north for the Vols' first round College Football Playoff matchup against the Ohio State Buckeyes.

Unfortunately for those fans, Tennessee was blown out 42-17 by the Buckeyes.

After the game, Ohio State offensive lineman Donovan Jackson admitted that the Tennessee takeover didn't sit well with Buckeyes players.

“It made us feel some type of way, coming out for warm-ups and getting booed,” said Jackson. “We were like, ‘Wait a second.’ What were they calling it, Neyland North? Yeah, that was lame.”

“For three weeks, everyone in the world was telling us we sucked,” added Jackson. “Half the fan base was telling us we sucked. Almost every analyst, expert and anyone with a podcast was telling us we sucked. And so we took it personally. That’s not how we were going to go out.

Vols fans showed up in a big way to support Tennessee football. But that big showing clearly provided some motivation for Ohio State. The Buckeyes played like a motivated team for 60 minutes against the Vols. That obviously wasn't just because Tennessee fans attempted to invade Columbus, but it was a big part of it.

Maybe next time Vols fans should move in silence instead of boasting about the takeover for a week straight on social media. The only thing that the boasting accomplished was pissing off the Buckeyes.
