The latest college football recruiting rumors should make Texas Longhorns quarterback Arch Manning very happy.

Manning, who will enter the 2024 season as the backup to Quinn Ewers, is expected to take over as the Longhorns' starting quarterback in 2025.

And Manning could have some exciting new weapons at his disposal when 2025 comes around.

There's a good chance that Texas could land three of the top wide receivers in the 2025 recruiting class based on recent rumors/rumblings.

The Longhorns are viewed as the top program for 2025 five-star wide receivers Dakorien Moore, Jaime Ffrench, and Kaliq Lockett.

“I do think all three would want to be on the same team together,” said InsideTexas.com recruiting insider Justin Wells earlier this month. “I think Texas leads for Jamie Ffrench right now, I’m even considering an RPM [prediction] later in the week…I’m getting closer and closer with that one. Dakorien Moore has been at the top of the list since [wide receivers coach] Chris Jackson got the job. He’s been the No. 1 guy for 2025 for a while. And Kaliq Lockett caught up with the staff a few days ago, and he loves the idea of playing with fellow five-stars."

Rivals.com national recruiting director Adam Gorney echoed those sentiments on Friday.

"There seem to be differing views on Lockett’s recruitment and it comes down to whether Texas or Texas A&M leads for the four-star receiver from Sachse, Texas," wrote Gorney. "The word I’ve gotten is that the Longhorns still look best with Florida State also in there. In recent days, Lockett, Dakorien Moore and Jaime Ffrench have all discussed teaming up in Austin."

Those three five-stars combined with Manning at quarterback, plus the talent that Texas already has on its roster, could make the Longhorns an early favorite to win the national championship in 2025.

It's usually not wise to count on true freshmen to make a significant impact. But wide receivers are showing up to college more prepared than ever these days — especially five-star talent. If all three land with Texas, you have to believe that at least one of them will make a big impact in 2025 (if not all three).

For all of the talk about Manning and the transfer portal this offseason, it's easy to see why he stayed around at Texas — Steve Sarkisian is building a monster in Austin.
