2026 four-star cornerback Caden Harris, one of the top recruits in the state of Tennessee, will announce his commitment later this month.
And the Tennessee Vols, surprisingly, aren't one of his finalists.
Harris, 6-foot/170 lbs from Brownsville, TN, is rated by 247Sports as the No. 11 cornerback in the nation and the No. 4 player in the state of Tennessee. He's also rated as the No. 92 overall player in the 2026 recruiting class.
The talented cornerback will announce his commitment on Tuesday, April 29 at 12 pm CT/1 pm ET on the 247Sports YouTube channel.
According to 247Sports' Tom Loy, Harris will be choosing between Auburn, Notre Dame, Georgia, Missouri, and Vanderbilt.
The Vols extended an offer to Harris and Tennessee was scheduled to receive an official visit from Harris in June. That official visit, however, was recently replaced by an official visit to Auburn.
Harris also has official visits scheduled to Vanderbilt, Georgia, and Alabama.
“My top priority is player development,” said Harris to On3 last month. “That’s not on the field but off the field, too. I’ve got an agent for that [NIL]. He’s been working on that.”
It's unclear why Tennessee fell out of the mix for Harris, but it's certainly not ideal for the Vols to not be a finalist one one of the top defensive players in the state — especially when SEC programs like Auburn and Georgia are interested in the four-star recruit.
