It seems like nearly every day there's a new prediction rolling in for the Tennessee Vols to land an elite recruit.
The Vols currently have the No. 8 2024 recruiting class in the nation and they're in the mix for several uncommitted elite recruits.
One of those elite recruits is five-star wide receiver Ryan Wingo.
Wingo, 6-foot-2/205 lbs from St Louis, MO, is rated by 247Sports as the No. 2 wide receiver in the nation and the No. 2 player in the state of Missouri. He's also rated as the No. 7 overall player in the 2024 recruiting class.
The elite wide receiver visited Tennessee this past weekend and he sounded high on the Vols when he spoke to AtoZ Sports in Nashville earlier this week. Wingo said that Tennessee's "crazy offense" is like a dream for a wide receiver.
For now, it appears that the Vols are trending for Wingo. On3's Chad Simmons suggested this week that Tennessee could be the team to beat heading into the summer.
"If there is a team to beat heading into the summer, I would lean toward the Vols," wrote Simmons.
Miami is very much in the mix as well so the Vols have some stiff competition for the talented wide receiver. Georgia, Michigan, and Texas A&M are also programs to watch here.
Wingo isn't planning to commit until National Signing Day (the first national signing period is in December), so the Vols will have 12 opportunities (possibly 13 if they reach the SEC Championship game) to further impress Wingo before he makes his college decision later this year.
