According to multiple reports, Burns has entered the NCAA transfer portal.
Vols head coach Tony Vitello confirmed the news on Tuesday morning during an appearance on WNML.
Burns was moved into a bullpen role for the Vols this past season where he excelled. The Tennessee native, however, likely wants to be a starter again moving forward (which would be better for his pro career).
After the way things went at Tennessee over the last two seasons, Burns probably felt like a fresh start was the best move for his career.
