Known SEC pessimist Danny Kanell is giving the former Vols gunslinger his flowers.
Kanell says that he would take Hooker over Kentucky QB Will Levis and Florida QB Anthony Richardson in this year's draft. He's a believer in him at the NFL level in comparison to those two.
Kanell is known for his somewhat "spicy" takes about the SEC during football season. In this case, though. he's got the back of the former Vols QB.
He thinks that Hooker is the steal of the draft at quarterback in this draft class. Kanell discussed his athleticism, size, accuracy, and decision-making.
The analyst also believes that Hooker will overcome any time missed due to his injury early in his NFL career due to his mental make-up.
Kanell simply believes that the former Vols QB has what it takes to overcome obstacles necessary at the NFL level.
We'll see who gives him a chance to join their QB room next.
