Earlier this week, the Tennessee Vols lost wide receivers coach Kodi Burns to the New Orleans Saints.

Burns made the jump to the NFL to serve as the Saints' wide receivers coach.

Could the Vols lose another assistant in the not-so-distant future?

I don't think it's likely, but it appears that it's at least a possibility.

According to UGASports.com, there are rumblings that the Georgia Bulldogs have interest in Tennessee offensive line coach Glen Elarbee.

The Bulldogs need a new offensive line coach with Matt Luke stepping aside for personal reasons.

Elarbee is a Georgia native, but it's still hard for me to see him leaving Josh Heupel and Tennessee for the Bulldogs. Elarbee has been with Heupel since 2016 at Missouri (when Heupel was the Tigers' offensive coordinator). And he's often spoken highly of Heupel, once calling him "freaky smart".

I think it's far more likely that Georgia hires former Vols offensive line coach Will Friend, who was at Georgia from 2011-2014. Friend's close friend Mike Bobo was recently hired at UGA as an off-field assistant, which seemingly makes this scenario even more likely.

While I'm sure Heupel and fans don't like seeing Elarbee mentioned in the same sentence as the Georgia offensive line coach job, it's still a good sign for the program that the defending national champs have interest in one of the Volunteers' most important position coaches.
