South Carolina Gamecocks head coach Shane Beamer has officially lost his mind.
Beamer, who is doing a good job at South Carolina so far (12-8 through his first 20 games), made a comment this week that could best be described as out of touch.
After the Gamecocks' big win over Texas A&M in Columbia, Beamer told SEC Network's Cole Cubelic that Williams-Brice Stadium had the best atmosphere in college football.
Beamer doubled down on the comment on Monday via Twitter.
I agree that the environment at Williams-Brice at night is incredible. It's one of the better environments in college football. It really is.
But it doesn't even come close to what we saw at Neyland a little over a week ago when Tennessee beat Alabama.
And it wasn't just the Alabama game that was like that — though things were on another level after the Vols beat Bama — it's insanely loud at every big game at Neyland. Especially at night.
Beamer should be proud of the atmosphere in Columbia. South Carolina fans show up and show out. But it doesn't compare to Neyland Stadium and the wall of noise created weekly by Tennessee fans.
