The Tennessee Vols made quite a statement on Saturday afternoon in Baton Rouge.

Tennessee went into Tiger Stadium and completely dominated LSU, winning 40-13 for the Vols' first win in the rivalry since 2005.

The Vols put up 501 yards of total offense against LSU including 262 yards on the ground.

An impressive offensive performance against a defense that's been pretty good this season.

After the convincing win, Vols head coach Josh Heupel made a statement that should frighten the rest of the SEC.

Heupel told reporters that Tennessee is a long way from playing its best football.

That's quite a statement to make after the Vols' biggest road win over a ranked team since 1995.

Tennessee still doesn't have the talent that Georgia or Alabama has. In fact, LSU likely had more talent — from a recruiting ranking perspective — than the Vols did on Saturday.

Yet this team is on the verge of a top-five ranking after Heupel's 18th game as the head coach.

If the Vols are nowhere close to playing their best football, how good is this team capable of being?!?!

That should definitely be a scary thought for the rest of the SEC. Tennessee is going to be a problem as long as Heupel is in town.
