For fans of the Tennessee Vols looking to get their 2026 football trips in order, that planning can now begin in earnest.
The SEC released the schedules of all of its schools on Thursday night, and now Tennessee can circle the dates on the calendar they’ll be heading to see the team play or organizing watch parties with family and friends.
Tennessee has a number of notable matchups on the calendar, with Texas and Auburn coming to town in back-to-back weeks, and Lane Kiffin and the new-look LSU Tigers coming to Knoxville on senior day.
However, there’s another notable aspect of the schedule that’s working in favor of Vol fans who have children. The Vols have one bye week, and it’s coming on Halloween.
Tennessee’s bye week falls on Halloween in 2026
In the previous two seasons, there were two bye weeks for each team based upon how the calendar set up with Labor Day the final Saturday in November. That isn’t going to be the case in 2026, so teams will revert back to one bye week.
It certainly creates a conflict for college football fans when a big game falls on a Halloween night, and they’ve got to get the little ones around the neighborhood for trick-or-treating. Fortunately, for Tennessee fans, the Big Orange won’t be on the screen that weekend, so they won’t have to be wandering around with an eye on their phone and an eye on their kids.
