2020 three-star athlete Jimmy Holiday officially flipped his commitment from TCU to the Tennessee Vols on Wednesday morning.

Holiday, 6-foot-1/180 lbs from Madison, MS, signed with the Vols on the first day of the early signing period after being committed to TCU since early August.

There's been some speculation that Holiday, the nation's No. 46 rated athlete, will be a wide receiver at the next level, thanks to his 4.38 speed in the 40 yard dash.

But for now, it appears the plan is for Holiday to get a shot at quarterback for the Vols.

Holiday told GoVols247 that he believes he'll be playing quarterback at Tennessee, saying "They envision me doing a lot of different things that quarterbacks on their roster aren’t capable of doing with their legs and arm".

While it's certainly possible that Holiday could move to wide receiver after he gets on campus (if he sees a better opportunity for early playing time that way), I still expect that UT's coaching staff will follow through on their promise to him and give him a legitimate shot at quarterback.

2020 four-star quarterback Harrison Bailey is absolutely the quarterback of the future for the Vols. But that doesn't mean Holiday can't contribute at quarterback for Tennessee.

I could see offensive coordinator Jim Chaney getting creative and coming up with some special packages for Holiday at quarterback — something that utilizes the Mississippi native's elite speed.

Plus, we've all seen how important quarterback depth is for a college program. The Vols have some good depth at quarterback right now (even if one of their quarterbacks transfers, they'll still have good depth), but the addition of Holiday gives their quarterback room some characteristics it was previously missing (speed).

Adding Holiday is a wise move for the Vols. Tennessee needs all the speed they can get and Holiday will certainly provide it.
