Tennessee has been as much of an "everything" school lately as any school in the country – regardless of a vocal sect of Florida Gator fans arguing on social media to the country.

It appears as though one major national outlet agrees with UT fans – at least in regard to football and basketball. 247 Sports put out their list of best football and basketball tandems for the 2024-25 year, and Tennessee topped the list ahead of Alabama and Mississippi.  Florida, who won the 2024-25 national championship on Monday, was not on the list.

It's hard to argue with the Vols being in the top spot.  Tennessee was one of two teams on the list to make the College Football Playoff, with the other being Oregon. Neither Tennessee nor Oregon won a game in the playoff, with both being dispatched easily by Ohio State in the first two rounds.

Also, Tennessee went as far as anyone on the list in the NCAA tournament, making the Elite Eight before falling to national runner up Houston 69-50.  Alabama also made the Elite Eight before losing to Duke in equally convincing fashion 85-65. However, Bama's failure to make the College Football Playoff, as well as their 24-17 loss to the Vols in the regular season, put them below Tennessee.  Oregon bowed out in the second round of the tournament with an 87-83 loss to Arizona, which hurt their case.

Beyond just this year – and beyond just football and basketball – Tennessee has proven to be an everything school, with baseball particularly included.  Tony Vitello's squad has made the College World Series in 3 of the last 4 years and won the title last year with a 60-win season. Add in that the Vols have made back-back-back Elite Eights and have been won a New Year's Six Bowl and made the playoff in 2 of the last 3 years, and it's hard to dispute what Vol fans have been arguing.

Tennessee really is an everything school.
