The Tennessee Vols are hoping to win back a 2026 recruit that recently decommitted from UT to join the Ohio State Buckeyes’ recruiting class.

In November, 2026 four-star athlete Legend Bey flipped his commitment from Tennessee to Ohio State.

Bey, 5-foot-11/175 lbs from Forney, TX, had been committed to Tennessee since June. He’s rated by Rivals as the No. 19 player in the state of Texas.

Legend Bey’s recruitment is reportedly a “tense situation”

247Sports’ Mike Roach reported on Tuesday evening that Bey is facing “significant pressure” as the Vols attempt to “win him back”.

Roach noted that some folks close to Bey want him to recommit to Tennessee.

“While Bey is completely content with the Buckeyes, several people in his circle are pressuring him to go back to Tennessee, a source near Bey told 247Sports,” reported Roach. “It’s been a tense situation between Bey and those voices over the past few weeks, leading up to National Signing Day.”

The feeling is that Bey will ultimately stick with the Buckeyes when the early signing period begins on Wednesday. But you never know how these recruiting battles will play out. We’ve certainly seen plenty of late surprises before. Still, it’s always tough to beat out Ohio State for a recruit that the Buckeyes really want — and they definitely appear to really want Bey.

Getting Bey back in the commit column would be a huge win for the Vols, but it’s going to take some 11th hour magic to make it happen.
