2025 five-star quarterback George MacIntyre, one of the Tennessee Vols' top recruiting targets, revealed his top 10 schools earlier this week.
Tennessee, as expected, made the cut for the No. 1 in-state player.
MacIntyre might have released a list of 10 schools, but according to On3's Chad Simmons, there are two programs that are considered the teams to beat for the talented quarterback — Alabama and Tennessee (with LSU hanging around in the picture, too, according to Simmons).
“Depending on who you talk to, Tennessee and Alabama are the teams to beat," wrote Simmons. "I think it’s clear for Tennessee that he is their No. 1 guy at this position that they went to keep at home. Josh Heupel is very involved in his recruitment, and MacIntyre is intrigued by the offense that they run and how they use the quarterback."
MacIntyre will be in Knoxville this weekend for the Vols' game against the Texas A&M Aggies.
A great atmosphere and a win against the Aggies could be enough to put Tennessee out in front in this recruiting battle. Landing MacIntyre over Alabama is a must for Josh Heupel and his staff. This is a recruiting battle the Vols can't afford to lose.
