It appears as though four-star WR Tyran Evans indeed has had his eye on another program as he backed off his pledge to the Tennessee Volunteers.
On3 Sports' VP of national recruiting Steve Wiltfong has logged a prediction for the Miami Hurricanes to land the talented wideout from Charlotte, NC.
"Everyone is chasing Miami moving forward," Wiltfong wrote while giving a crystal ball for the Canes to land Evans. Evans' switch in interest to Miami isn't out of left field, since he visited Coral Gables last weekend.
Wiltfong isn't the only expert pegging Miami as the team now likely to land Evans. 247 Sports' Gaby Urrutia also issued a crystal ball prediction for Evans to end up heading to South Florida and play for Mario Cristobal.
Losing Evans wouldn't be a great situation for the Vols, but it also is still early in the process. Tennessee isn't bare in the cupboard at wide receiver, as they have four-star Knoxville Catholic product Tyreek King committed and remain very much in the hunt to flip five-star Tristen Keys from LSU, who visited Knoxville last weekend.
It's worth keeping an eye on what happens in the coming days with Evans, but even if the Vols don't ultimately make a push, there's still plenty of time left for Heupel to work to land more weapons for 2026 five-star QB Faizon Brandon.
