Freshman Cameron Seldon has a lot of potential.
There could be another impact player to add to the Vols' running back room next fall. 2024 four-star Tennessee commit Peyton Lewis is putting up video game numbers in the Virginia state playoffs. He had a game for the ages last weekend, as he carried Salem High School to the Class 4A state title game with a 31-21 win over Tuscarora.
30 carries. 373 yards. 4 touchdowns. Toss sweep outside. Inside runs. From the wildcat. Lewis delivered in every situation. There have been Tennessee players over the years who've had legendary high school feats, but that's got to be one that's at least in the conversation as the most impressive single game performance ever.
Lewis is the #14 RB and #5 player in Virginia, per 247 Sports. Rivals (25/4) and On3 (14/3) both have him as a top five player in the state as well. He holds offers from Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Miami, Penn State, South Carolina, and Colorado, among many others. He ended up committing to the Vols on May 27.
Now Tennessee fans will be licking their chops to see what Lewis can do once he gets to Knoxville. If he can translate that natural playmaking skill to the field early on, he could find himself quickly a part of the Vols' running back rotation.
