A former Josh Heupel-coached wide receiver had a huge game on Saturday night in the Buffalo Bills' big win against the Los Angeles Chargers.

Before Heupel was the Tennessee Vols' head coach, he was the head coach at UCF for three seasons. And while at UCF, Heupel coached current Bills wide receiver Gabe Davis for two seasons, including his breakout year in 2019 when he caught 72 passes for 1,241 yards and 12 touchdowns.

On Saturday night, against the Chargers, Davis led Buffalo in receiving by catching four passes for 130 yards and a touchdown. He accounted for well over half of quarterback Josh Allen's through the air production (Allen had 237 passing yards), while superstar wide receiver Stefon Diggs caught just five passes for 29 yards for Buffalo.

That was essentially a must-win game for a Bills team that still has a legitimate chance to win the AFC East.

Davis, a fourth-round selection by the Bills in the 2020 NFL Draft, has 43 receptions for 725 yards and seven touchdowns this season. He now has 27 career receiving touchdowns.
