Tennessee Vols head coach Rick Barnes was thrilled to win the SEC regular season championship on Wednesday night via UT's win against the South Carolina Gamecocks.

But winning the regular season championship is hardly the biggest goal that Barnes has this season.

After the game, while speaking with his team, Barnes made it clear that his ultimate goal this season is brining a national championship to Knoxville.

"Hey, I'm glad we did this, but you gotta understand — I want to play on Monday," said Barnes in the locker room.

Barnes, of course, is referring to the national championship game that will be played on April 8, a Monday night.

This Tennessee team seems to be peaking at the right time. They're playing their best basketball in March. That doesn't mean they're a lock to reach the Final Four — a lot still has to go right. But the Vols have as good of a chance as anyone in the nation to be the team that's cutting down the nets in Glendale next month.
