After helping lead the Tennessee Vols baseball team to a national championship, RHP Drew Beam is ready to sit back and watch the UT football team bring another championship to Rocky Top.

Beam, in fact, called his shot for Vols football on Tuesday at Tennessee's national championship celebration in Knoxville.

"I grew up bleeding orange, Tennessee fan, I watched football every Saturday with my dad and now I got to be a part of this for three years so it's been super cool," said Beam. "Especially being the first baseball team to bring home a national championship. I wasn't born yet when we won football in '98, so it's been really cool to bring a championship home and then we'll see football do it this fall."

Tennessee athletics has an incredible amount of momentum right now.  And winning championships is contagious.

The Vols football team obviously has a long journey ahead of them this fall — the grind of an SEC schedule is brutal at times — but the team has the talent and the coaching to make something special happen in 2024.

If Beam's prediction proves to be correct — which would mean a baseball natty and a football natty in the same season — it would result in the most memorable year ever for Tennessee fans.
