Now that the Tennessee Vols' 2024-25 season is over, thanks to a tough loss to the Houston Cougars in the Elite Eight, UT head coach Rick Barnes and his staff can turn their full attention to the NCAA transfer portal.

The Vols are losing six seniors from this year's Elite Eight squad, which is why we're expecting Tennessee to be quite active in the portal this offseason.

According to 247Sports, Tennessee is one of several programs that's already been in contact with UCLA Bruins guard Sebastian Mack, who recently entered the NCAA transfer portal.

Arizona State, Boston College, DePaul, Florida State, Illinois, Indiana, Miami, Missouri, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, San Diego State, Seton Hall, St. John's, TCU, Texas, Texas A&M, and UNLV are also among the schools that have reached out to Mack.

247Sports' Brandon Jenkins reported on Monday that Mack has set up Zoom calls with Florida State, Missouri, Oklahoma, San Diego State, and Tennessee.

"Look for the those five schools to be in serious contention to start," noted Jenkins.

Mack, 6-foot-3/200 lbs from Chicago, IL (he played high school basketball in Nevada), should be familiar with Tennessee after playing against the Vols in the second round of the NCAA Tournament. Mack scored four points to go along with two steals, one rebound, and one assist in 21 minutes of action in UCLA's loss to Tennessee.

The former four-star recruit averaged 9.6 points per game as a sophomore this past season. Mack actually had a better season as a true freshman, averaging 12.1 points per game for the Bruins in 2023-24.

It's still early in the transfer cycle, but Mack is a name that Vols fans should keep an eye on in the coming weeks.
