The Tennessee Vols have done well in the NCAA transfer portal this offseason by addressing a couple of areas of need, including along the defensive and offensive lines.
Tennessee also landed Oregon transfer wide receiver Dont'e Thornton recently, giving the Vols another dangerous weapon in the passing game.
One area the Vols haven't addressed, however, is their secondary.
Tennessee's pass defense struggled at times in 2022 and they're losing a key contributor in safety Trevon Flowers.
It would make sense for the Vols to add a defensive back from the portal — preferably a cornerback.
There have been several quality options that hit the portal over the last month, but Tennessee hasn't appeared to show much interest.
Another quality option entered the portal over the weekend.
TCU cornerback Kee'yon Stewart entered the portal on Sunday according to On3.
Stewart is a former three-star recruit from Houston who has seen significant playing time for the Horned Frogs over the last four seasons.
The Houston native started at TCU as a freshman, which is an impressive feat at any Power-5 program.
Stewart entered the portal last offseason and quickly decided to return to TCU. So it's possible that this move is NIL related. But if it's not, the Vols should get on the phone and gauge Stewart's interest in coming to the SEC.
After getting thumped by Georgia in the national championship game, Stewart might want to see what life in the best conference in college football is like.
