2020 Tennessee Vols signee Harrison Bailey is now a five-star quarterback according to Rivals.

Bailey, who is rated by Rivals as the No. 30 overall 2020 player, was elevated from four-star status to five-star status on Tuesday. The bump was expected for the dynamic quarterback who is fourth all time in Georgia high school history in passing yards (behind Trevor Lawrence, Deshaun Watson and Jake Fromm).

With Bailey's bump, the Vols now have the nation's No. 8 2020 recruiting class (they're tied with Michigan).

Bailey becoming a five-star and Tennessee's rise up the recruiting rankings is a big deal for the the Vols.

For one, it shows the progress that Jeremy Pruitt is making. Everything to do with the program right now is on an upward trajectory. On the field play is improving and recruiting is improving as well.

Recruits from around the country will absolutely take notice of this and start paying Tennessee more attention.

Now, here's the exciting part for Vol fans. Jeremy Pruitt has a top 8 class after losing to Georgia State and BYU last season and finishing 8-5.

Imagine what recruiting will look like for Tennessee if the Vols are able to win ten games next season?

The potential for a top five class is there for UT in the very near future.

When a program starts landing consecutive top 5-10 classes is when the foundation for a championship run is built.

Tennessee has a ways to go to get to that point, but Pruitt is certainly on the right track so far.
