The Tennessee Vols will never be able to fully replace wide receiver Jauan Jennings.

Jennings provided plenty of on-the-field value for the Vols, but it was his off-the-field attributes — specifically his competitiveness and passion for football (and Tennessee) — that truly made him a special player.

NFL draft analyst Chase Goodbread was especially impressed with Jennings' competitive edge this week at the Super Bowl.

It's safe to say the Volunteers will probably never find a player to fill the void that Jennings will leave behind in Knoxville.

But that won't stop them from trying.

In fact, they might have identified an under-the-radar 2021 wide receiver that could provide a similar skillset as Jennings.

Three-star wide receiver JJ Jones, 6-foot-3/195 lbs from Myrtle Beach, SC, recently received an offer from Tennessee. He's rated by 247Sports as the No. 3 player in the state of South Carolina and the No. 51 wide receiver in the nation.

Jones' highlight video shows him making some Jennings-like moves on the field.

The South Carolina native recently told Rivals that Tennessee told him they're looking for wide receivers who can "score after the catch and make plays down the field".

Jones, who is set to visit North Carolina and Notre Dame in the coming weeks, certainly appears to be a player who can make defenders miss after the catch.

Can he be Jauan Jennings?

That's doubtful.

But maybe he can be the next best thing for the Vols.
