The Tennessee Vols are one of six programs still in the mix to land 2025 four-star offensive lineman Douglas Utu.
Alabama, Michigan, Nebraska, Oregon, and Washington are the other five teams in Utu's top six.
Utu, 6-foot-5/300 lbs from Las Vegas, NV, is rated in 247Sports' composite rankings as the No. 2 interior offensive lineman in the nation and the No. 2 player in the state of Nevada. He's also ranked as the No. 67 overall player in the 2025 recruiting class.
The four-star recruit doesn't have a firm commitment date, but he suggested to On3 that he plans to commit in July, ahead of the start of his senior season.
“I was at Tennessee in April and I like how they work," said Utu to On3 of his interest in the Vols. "They are always moving, working and trying to get better. They hardly ever stopped and I liked the way they worked hard."
Utu also pointed out that he "feels good" about Tennessee offensive line coach Glen Elarbee.
The highly coveted offensive lineman is expected to take an official visit to Tennessee before making his decision.
UT currently has 10 players committed to its 2025 recruiting class, which is ranked No. 15 in the nation. Tennessee only has one offensive lineman committed so far, three-star offensive tackle Antoni Kade Ogumoro.
