The Tennessee Vols are among the top schools for an elite in-state 2025 recruit.
2025 four-star defensive lineman Ethan Utley revealed his top five schools on Christmas Day and he included Tennessee, along with Syracuse, Michigan, Texas, and Oklahoma.
Utley, 6-foot-4/270 lbs from Nashville, TN, is rated in 247Sports' composite rankings as the No. 11 defensive lineman in the nation and the No. 4 player in the state of Tennessee. He's also rated as the No. 112 overall player in the 2024 recruiting class.
"My favorite things about them (Vols) is how true they are in their recruiting," said Utley to 247Sports this week while discussing his top schools. "They strive in creating a home away from home feeling for recruits and the relationship I have built with Coach (Josh) Heupel all the way down to the players makes my comfort level really high at UT.”
Utley took an unofficial visit to Tennessee for the Vols' game against Georgia last month.
The Vols currently have four players committed to their 2025 recruiting class.
