The Tennessee Vols are reportedly attempting to make a huge splash in the NCAA transfer portal.

According to On3, Tennessee is working to secure a visit from USC transfer wide receiver Zachariah Branch and defensive back Zion Branch.

Zachariah, 5-foot-10/175 lbs from Las Vegas, is a former five-star recruit who was rated as the No. 1 wide receiver in the 2023 recruiting class.

Zion, the older brother of Zachariah, was a four-star recruit in the 2022 class. He was rated as the No. 6 safety in the nation.

On3's Pete Nakos reported on Monday that Tennessee is going "all in" to try to get a visit from the brothers. Nakos noted that Tennessee wide receiver Bru McCoy, who started his career at USC, and the dad of quarterback Nico Iamaleava have made pitches to the Branch brothers.

(Speaking of Iamaleava, Zachariah and Nico have played together before, most recently at the 2023 Polynesian Bowl.)

Zachariah totaled 78 receptions for 823 yards and three touchdowns in two seasons at USC. Zion, meanwhile, has 41 career tackles and one sack in 21 games for the Trojans.

It was beyond evident in Tennessee's loss to Ohio State in the first round of the College Football Playoff that the Vols need to improve at the wide receiver position. Landing Zachariah Branch would certainly be a step in the right direction for the Vols.

Georgia is also in the mix for the Branch brothers, so this could be an uphill battle for Tennessee. But it sounds like the Vols are gong to give it their best effort. We'll see how it plays out in the coming weeks.
