Tennessee Vols are threatening to steal a commit from the Alabama Crimson Tide
The Tennessee Vols could be on the verge of stealing a commit from the Alabama Crimson Tide.
The Tennessee Vols are a legitimate threat to swipe a commit from the Alabama Crimson Tide.
2027 three-star cornerback Nash Johnson has been committed to the Crimson Tide since October, but he’s continued to have contact with other programs.
And one of those programs is Tennessee.
Johnson, who visited Tennessee this week, told On3 that he’s “highly interested” in the Vols.
“I am still highly interested in Tennessee,” said Johnson after his visit to Rocky Top. “I loved the energy today. There were great vibes from the coaches too. Tennessee has always been a school I have been in tune with. It is a great program and it is high on my list.”
On3’s Chad Simmons noted that Johnson is “trending toward not ending up in Tuscaloosa”.
Simmons also pointed out that Tennessee is a “strong contender” for the three-star cornerback.
Johnson, 6-foot/170 pounds from Powder Springs, GA, is rated in 247Sports’ composite rankings as the No. 66 cornerback in the nation and the No. 72 player in the state of Georgia.
Auburn, Miami, and Ole Miss are among the programs also showing interest in Johnson.
The Georgia native is scheduled to return to Tennessee on June 12 for an official visit.
