The Tennessee Vols finished off a wild week by beating the LSU Tigers in the SEC Tournament championship game on Sunday afternoon in Hoover.
It was the second SEC Tournament championship win for the Vols in the last three seasons.
On Monday morning, Tennessee's social media team dropped a must-watch video of the on-field celebration.
And let's just say the Vols were fired up to win the SEC tourney.
Check it out:
At times during the SEC Tournament, it felt like Tennessee wasn't really trying to win the tourney. Not that they weren't playing hard and playing to win — clearly winning this tourney meant a lot to the players and the coaches.
But Tennessee managed the tourney in such as way that it was evident that playing well in the NCAA Tournament, and the College World Series if they advance, was the priority over winning the SEC tourney.
The Vols, however, were good enough to win the SEC tourney without "going all out" to bring home the trophy (specifically, they didn't jeopardize their pitching).
"I think that we balanced out, other than Kirby (Connell) who probably wants to be out there every day, we balanced the workload pretty well," said Vitello after the win against LSU. "Even behind the plate with Cal (Stark) would be the other spot. The other guys just need to play."
This Tennessee team is playing some excellent baseball right now. And if they continue to play at this level, a national championship is absolutely within reach.
