The Tennessee Vols could be on the verge of making a surprise addition to their 2026 recruiting class.
According to On3’s Chad Simmons, 2026 three-star edge rusher Cam Brooks will take an official visit to Tennessee this weekend for the Vols’ matchup against the Vanderbilt Commodores.
Brooks, 6-foot-3/225 lbs from Thomasville, GA, is rated in 247Sports’ composite rankings as the No. 60 edge rusher in the nation and the No. 67 player in the state of Georgia.
The three-star edge rusher was previously committed to California, but he decommitted from the Bears after the program fired head coach Justin Wilcox earlier this month.
“This one could be wide open,” wrote Simmons. “After Justin Wilcox was let go at Cal, Cam Brooks reopened his recruitment. With just one weekend left and as an early enrollee, Brooks will be signing next week. He plans to take an official visit to Tennessee this weekend, while Georgia Tech and Mississippi State have also been in contact with the South Georgia pass rusher.”
Simmons also noted that the programs in the mix for Brooks, including Tennessee, are looking to add defensive line help to their 2026 recruiting classes.
The Vols are also in the mix for four-star edge rusher Jordan Carter, who is set to take an official visit to Auburn this weekend (Georgia Tech is also a big factor for Carter).
