The Tennessee Vols' recruiting hot streak has been the non-coronavirus story of the spring.

Jeremy Pruitt and his staff have added a lot of talent over the last couple of weeks, which has lifted Tennessee's 2021 recruiting class to No. 2 in the nation.

But the Vols might not be done adding elite talent this week.

2021 four-star linebacker Aaron Willis is set to announce his commitment on Sunday and Tennessee is in his top three (along with LSU and Maryland).

Willis, 6-foot/200 lbs from Baltimore, MD, is rated in 247Sports' composite rankings as the No. 4 player in the state of Maryland and the No. 9 outside linebacker in the nation.

Willis, a Virginia native, was previously committed to Virginia Tech, but he decommitted last year.

Last month, Rivals recruiting analyst Adam Friedman "ranked the contenders" for Willis and the Vols weren't included.

Tennessee, however, should have a really good shot at landing the talented linebacker. Willis said in early April that he has a great relationship with UT linebackers coach Brian Niedermeyer. And one of Willis' former teammates, Dominic Bailey, signed with the Vols in December and enrolled at UT in January.

Willis told Rivals that he talks with Bailey from time to time and hears good things about Tennessee.

I don't think the Vols will have any issues beating out Maryland for Bailey (the Terrapins are coming off a 3-9 season). But it could be tough to beat out LSU. The Tigers, after all, are the defending champs and they just had 14 players selected in the 2020 NFL Draft. That's certainly attractive for recruits.

But the good news for UT is that 247Sports recruiting analyst Brian Dohn recently predicted that Tennessee will land Willis on Sunday.

If that happens, the Vols will be getting a player that's described by Dohn as a "solid blitzer". Dohn also says that Willis should be a "multi-year starter at a top 15 program".

Willis is set to announce his decision on Sunday at 11 AM CT/12 PM ET on Instagram live.
