Tennessee Vols defensive back Boo Carter continues to work his way back into the good graces of his teammates.
Carter, who reportedly missed numerous team activities over the summer, is still on Tennessee’s roster despite the recent drama surrounding his status.
The Chattanooga native, however, hasn’t been going through practice with the rest of his teammates.
Carter was spotted on the field during the first couple of days of fall camp during stretching periods, but unlike his teammates, he was sans helmet.

On Saturday, Carter was finally spotted with a helmet (and shoulder pads), seemingly indicating that he’s made at least a small step forward in his return to the team.
Carter still isn’t fully practicing with the team (he didn’t go through drills with the rest of his teammates), so he still has a ways to go in his return. But the dynamic defensive back at least appears to be moving in the right direction.
That’s certainly a good thing for the Volunteers — Carter is easily one of the most talented players in the SEC.
