The Tennessee Vols haven't lost many players to the NCAA transfer portal this offseason.

Their most notable loss was probably quarterback Tayven Jackson, who transferred to Indiana earlier this offseason (Jackson is from Indiana).

On Friday, a Vols defensive lineman reportedly entered the NCAA transfer portal.

GoVols247 reported on Friday morning that Vols redshirt sophomore defensive lineman Amari McNeill has entered the NCAA transfer portal.

McNeill is a former three-star recruit who signed with Tennessee in December 2020. He's one of several players who signed with the Vols just weeks before Jeremy Pruit was fired at Tennessee.

The Georgia native stuck around after Josh Heupel took over as the Vols' head coach, but he hasn't seen much playing time over the last two seasons. McNeill, who could also play along the offensive line, will finish his Tennessee career with three total tackles and a pass defensed.

McNeill received praise for his performance during Tennessee's spring practice, but it looks like he'll be finishing his college career elsewhere. This move will certainly hurt the Vols' defensive line depth a bit — especially since McNeill had a solid spring — but it's not a loss that should have a major impact on Tennessee in 2023.
