Former Tennessee Vols edge rusher James Pearce, a first round selection by the Atlanta Falcons in the 2025 NFL Draft, was one of the most feared pass rushers in the SEC over the last several years.
But while Pearce was feared by plenty of opposing quarterbacks, he also has a fear of his own that he would prefer to keep quiet.
Pearce isn't a big fan of flying. He's not quite at the John Madden level where he's going to take a train to travel across the country, but he admits that he's not big on flying.
"I don't know if I want to keep spreading that information," said Pearce during an appearance on Falcons in Focus. "That's bad information to spread. But yeah, I'm not big on planes. Not (flying) six hours, not going to Japan, not going out of the country."
"I just don't like being in the air that long. It's just like I'm stuck. I can't (move around). I like being on a straight line (to travel), but what If I want to go do something else (during the flight)."
Pearce has the potential to be Pro Bowl player in the NFL. I guess it's a good thing that Pro Bowl isn't planning to return to Hawaii anytime soon — otherwise, that's a trip that the former Vol would probably have to miss.
