The Tennessee Vols received some much-needed positive injury-related news on Friday evening ahead of their showdown against the Florida Gators that's set for Saturday night.
According to ESPN's Pete Thamel, Tennessee will have all of their top wide receivers available for the matchup against Florida.
Specifically, Dont'e Thornton, who was listed as questionable, and Bru McCoy and Squirrel White, both listed as probable, are each expected to play against the Gators according to Thamel.
Thornton, who is in his second season with the Vols after transferring from Oregon, is Tennessee's leading wide receiver so far this season (eight receptions for 284 yards and three touchdowns). He's also been the Vols' most consistent big-play threat through the first five games of the season (as evidenced by his insane 35.5 yards per catch average).
McCoy is Tennessee's second leading wide receiver with 14 receptions for 209 yards. White, meanwhile, leads Tennessee in receptions with 15 for 159 yards.
The Vols have some quality depth at the wide receiver position (including five-star true freshman Mike Matthews), but there's no doubt that having experienced players like Thornton, McCoy, and White ready to go will be big for Tennessee in a huge rivalry game against Florida.
