EA Sports finally throws Tennessee Vols fans a tiny bone as they conclude College Football 25 sneak peek

The Tennessee Volunteers haven't gotten much love from EA Sports ahead of the release of their highly anticipated College Football 25 game. That's actually quite the understatement.
The Vols have been absent from the top 25 teams in offensive rankings, defensive rankings, and overall team rankings for some bizarre reason. And to top it off, EA Sports left Neyland Stadium completely out of their top 10 stadium list, which influences visiting players in the game. It's almost like they forgot the program even exists.
Well, as it turns out they didn't forget the Vols exist. They just apparently don't think much of them outside of one man: James Pearce, Jr. EA Sports put out its list of the top 100 rated players in the game, and Pearce came in fourth overall with 95 rating.
Pearce has made himself too good to ignore, even by a company that has completely ignored the Vols so far. The talented edge rusher is projected by many to be the first defensive player taken in the 2025 NFL Draft, if not the first overall player. Some feel he could have been the first defensive player taken in the 2024 draft if he'd been eligible.
He certainly left a strong lasting impression the last time he was on a football field, compiling a forced fumble, tackle for loss, sack, and pick six in the Vols' 35-0 thrashing of Iowa in the Citrus Bowl.
Another player who had quite the performance was game MVP Nico Iamaleava, who accounted for 4 total touchdowns. That wasn't enough to get the attention of the game makers, although Colorado's Shedeur Sanders and his team's 4-8 record apparently did enough to earn the top overall QB rating.
Vol fans can get their hands on the game when it's released to the public on July 16. It will mark the first time the popular game has been released in over 11 years.
