Tennessee Vols are reportedly in line to receive a visit from a very highly coveted ACC transfer player
The Tennessee Vols are looking to make some big moves in the NCAA transfer portal.
The Tennessee Vols are reportedly in line to receive a visit from a highly coveted ACC defensive lineman.
According to On3’s Pete Nakos, Tennessee is among the programs expected to receive a visit from Wake Forest transfer defensive lineman Mateen Ibirogba.
“Ibirogba is lining up visits to Georgia Tech, Notre Dame, Tennessee and Texas Tech, sources tell On3,” wrote Nakos on Saturday.

Ibirogba, the No. 1 overall transfer defensive lineman, totaled 21 tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss, and 2 sacks for the Demon Deacons last season.
How much money is Mateen Ibirogba expected to command on the transfer market?
The market for Ibirogba is expected to be north of $1 million.
“Sources have told On3 that the 6-foot-3, 296-pound defensive tackle is set to command in the $1 million range,” reported Nakos.
With Texas Tech, a program that seemingly has limitless NIL funds, in the mix, the bidding for Ibirogba could certainly get out of hand.
The Vols, however, badly need defensive line help. If Tennessee is serious about competing in the SEC in 2026, then landing a transfer defender like Ibirogba is a must. UT is set to lose key defensive linemen such as Bryson Eason and Dominic Bailey.
We’ll see where the Vols stand if/when Ibirogba’s visit to Tennessee happens.
Update:
According to a report from VolQuest, Ibirogba will visit Tennessee next week.
