Tennessee Vols fans received some unexpected good news to end the weekend.
On Sunday afternoon, Stanford transfer defensive lineman Jaxson Moi announced his commitment to Tennessee after a weekend visit to Knoxville.
Moi, 6-foot-2/303 lbs, is a former three-star recruit from San Diego who signed with Stanford during the 2022 recruiting cycle.
The California native played in 12 games for the Cardinal last season with seven starts (including the final six games of the season). According to 247Sports, Moi graded out as Stanford's second-best defensive lineman last season (per PFF).
Moi will immediately add another quality player to an already-talented group of defensive linemen. Tennessee will field an interior defensive line next season that includes Omarr Norman-Lott, Omari Thomas, Daevin Hobbs, and Bryson Eason, among others. The addition of Moi will allow Tennessee's defensive line to rotate throughout the game with no drop off in talent — which will keep the defensive line fresh for the fourth quarter.
