Tennessee Vols head coach Josh Heupel provided an unfortunate injury update on a key player on Monday.

Heupel told reporters that redshirt senior linebacker Keenan Pili suffered an ACL injury in Tennessee's win against Florida this past Saturday night.

Pili will miss the rest of the season.

This will likely end Pili's collegiate career, which is incredibly unfortunate for the Nevada native — especially after he missed all but one game last season.

Pili, who transferred to UT from BYU ahead of the 2023 season, finishes his Tennessee career with 33 total tackles and two tackles for loss.

Sophomore linebacker Jeremiah Telander should see more playing time for the Vols with Pili out for the season.

Heupel noted that he's not sure who will wear the helmet communication device with Pili out, though he pointed to Telander and sophomore linebacker Arion Carter as potential options.
