Neyland Stadium, the home of the Tennessee Vols, is currently undergoing some renovations.

A number of new features — including some changes in seating — are being added to the historic stadium. As a result, the capacity of Neyland is expected to drop a bit from the 102,455 that it has seated since 2010.

According to VolQuest's Brent Hubbs, the stadium will seat 101,915 moving forward.

"We've done a great deal of listening and learning over the past 18 months, and our fans have been instrumental in helping to shape the vision for the future of one of the most iconic sporting venues in the world," said Tennessee athletic director Danny White in a statement. "Through our evaluation process, we also developed a new business philosophy prioritizing project elements that generate revenue. That will enable us to invest in key amenities that impact our entire fanbase, such as enhanced Wi-Fi, larger concourses, nicer restrooms, and more."

One of the most important upgrades is the new Wi-Fi that's expected at Neyland.

If you've been to a game at Neyland, you know that your phone is essentially useless during the game. Sending a message or logging onto social media is nearly impossible. That's something that shouldn't be a problem at any stadium in 2022.

Fortunately, it appears that Wi-Fi and communications won't be an issue moving forward.

White is making sure that Tennessee isn't left behind when it comes to stadium upgrades. Not only is that important for recruiting, but it's also important for the fans that pay their heard-earned money to faithfully attend games every year.
