WrestleMania 40 took place on Saturday night, and the match card was filled with big names.
However, it was a tiny fan that caught some attention at the popular wrestling event, and he was joined by a fan favorite in Kansas City and Knoxville, Tennessee: Trey Smith.
The WWE featured Smith and Joey Borgonzi, the young fan he comforted during the tragic shooting at the Kansas City Chiefs' championship parade back in February.
Smith got a little ribbing in with Philadelphia fans, as he stood on the field where his Chiefs defeated the Eagles 42-30 his rookie season.
"I'm getting goosebumps just being here. Thinking about being a little kid watching wrestling growing up, it's really special. You know, the last time we came to Philadelphia my rookie year, we had a great day for the Chiefs. But it's really cool being here today, especially with my buddy, Joey."
Smith received national attention back after he comforted a young child amid the chaos that immediately followed the shooting. Smith and a number of other individuals hid in a closet in a building not far from the shooting, where Smith talked to the child to try to keep him calm and shared his Chiefs WWE belt with him, which he was carrying during the parade. Smith ended up giving him the belt later on.
"He was like saying, 'you're the champion, you're the champion,'" Joey said. "He said it so much that I started to believe it, and I really forgot about what was happening outside."
The shooting saw over two dozen individuals injured, with 43-year-old Lisa Lopez-Galvan losing her life. Three people have been arrested and charged with murder, among other counts, in connection with the tragedy.
