Tennessee Vols running back Jaylen Wright is one of three UT players that received an invite to the NFL scouting combine that begins later this month (along with quarterback Joe Milton and cornerback Kamal Hadden).

Wright is expected to boost his draft stock at the combine as he's expected to test well in the 40-yard dash and other speed/quickness related tests.

The North Carolina native, who is skipping his senior season at Tennessee to take part in the 2024 NFL Draft, is coming off a breakout season that saw him rush for 1,013 yards (7.4 yards per carry) and four touchdowns while playing a grueling SEC schedule.

For now, Pro Football Network has Wright getting selected by the Las Vegas Raiders in the fifth round (No. 146 overall) of the draft.

Because Wright plays running back, which is considered a "non-premium" position in the NFL, it's unlikely that he'll dramatically increase his draft stock even with a great performance at the combine. But he could at least improve his stock enough to get selected in the third or fourth round, which is solid for any running back coming out of college.

The NFL scouting combine begins on February 26 in Indianapolis. Tennessee will also hold a pro day later this spring.
