College football recruiting is cutthroat, which means coaches often have to be creative when it comes to their approach.

Tennessee Vols head coach Jeremy Pruitt is certainly taking a unique approach this weekend in Knoxville. Pruitt has reportedly set up a paintball course on Tennessee's practice field for the numerous recruits on campus this weekend to use (including four-star UT QB commit Harrison Bailey).

This is a tremendous idea. I'm sure other coaches do similar things, but it's still refreshing to see Pruitt willing to have some fun.

Pruitt has a reputation as a no-nonsense coach in the vein of Nick Saban. But let's make one thing clear — Pruitt isn't a Saban clone. He's his own person with his own methods.

I don't know if the Vols will land any recruits because of their modified paintball course on the practice field, but I definitely think the players will leave UT with fond memories. And perhaps those fond memories will lead to a commitment.

Either way, Vol fans have to be thrilled to see Pruitt using every tool possible to improve Tennessee's standing in the recruiting rankings.
