Tennessee Vols head coach Josh Heupel is demanding, but he's not the type to go into a Nick Saban-like rage during practices. That's just not his style.
There is one thing, however, according to senior offensive lineman Cooper Mays that Heupel "doesn't put up with" during practices.
Mays joined "Off the Hook Sports" recently to discuss the latest happenings with Tennessee football and show host Dave Hooker asked him if he's ever seen Heupel "lose it".
"Umm, lose it? Nah, he doesn't do much of that," said Mays. "But he definitely gets upset if anybody fights. He doesn't really put up with that. That's his one thing that he gets upset about, but [he] never really loses it."
Hooker added that Heupel's been know to go off on officials during games from time to time, which elicited a chuckle from Mays.
"I'm always on the field for that or on the bench doing corrections so I don't see much of that, but I'm sure he does that as well," said Mays with a laugh.
There aren't many people on the planet more competitive than Heupel, but he doesn't let that prevent him from keeping his composure, which is something it sounds like his players appreciate.
